Dear friends, community members and local business owners,
On October 8th, 2025, our dear friend, Sarah Olker was diagnosed with Bile Duct Cancer, a rare form of Cancer that affects the tube that carries bile from the liver to the gallbladder and smal intestine. Sarah has been in and out of the hospital since being diagnosed and is weak from the Chemo treatments that she started.
Until her diagnosis, Sarah was commuting about an hour and a half each way to her job.
As a full time working wife, mother and active community member, Sarah has been a main source for her family's needs and financial support until now. She and her family were staying afloat on the two full time incomes, but now her husband, Jason, is the only one bringing home an income while balancing Sarah's health care needs as well as their children's daily needs.
They are beginning to stretch the dollar as far as it can go.
Sarah's family and friends will be hosting a benefit to assist her and her family with paying
for medical bills and day to day care of their home and children on December 7th at 1 pm to be held at Dutchess Sports Bar & BBQ located at 1820 New Hackensack Rd, Poughkeepsie. This is where we are hoping you can help. A monetary donation to the family or one of goods or services to be used for silent auction or to raffle off at the benefit would be much appreciated.
Our goal is to help ease the financial burden that this Cancer has made on a wonderful and loving family. Sarah is a loving person who is always there to support her family, friends and community. Now it is our turn to support Sarah in her fight against Bile Duct Cancer.
