Would you like to bring joy to seafarers who will not be home with their families for Christmas? Port chaplains bring satchels filled with gifts to the ships they visit in the weeks prior to Christmas and the captain holds a holiday celebration where every crew member will open their satchels, each containing:

One Sweatshirt – hooded or unhooded (size M-L)
Three Pairs of Socks – thermal or gym
One T- Shirt (size M-L)
One Knitted Winter Cap 
(coordinating scarf optional; no pastels please) 
One Can of Nuts, Large Bar of Chocolate, or Health Snack Bar
A Holiday or Christmas Card from YOU!

You are welcome to donate all the items to make a whole satchel, or just purchase some items off the list. After the due date, we will inventory what we have and use a Thrivent Action Team grant to purchase other items that are needed to make a full satchel. 

Please Note: Most of the Seafarers are men, so we have been asked to keep that in mind with our gifts.

Place your donations in the collection basket in the Narthex by November 9th.

Assembly Help is Needed:
We need helpers to assemble the satchels on November 16 at 11:30AM in the Fellowship Hall. It won’t take very long and it is a great way to be more involved in this project. Thank you for your generous support of this ELCA mission opportunity.
