- **Event Description**: What a way to come back since our last dance so long ago in January - to Brooklyn Swing Ensemble! And with an outstanding caller from CT who is new to HVCD- Steve Holland. This will be great!

BSE will bring us swing and spunky contra music with a mix of traditional fiddle music and tunes you might have heard at a Brighton Beach Bar Mitzvah in 1953! Featuring Sam Zygmuntowicz on fiddle, Marco Brehm on bass, Norman Plankey on guitar/banjo, and Dan Elias on clarinet.

Steve is a modern contra dance caller, calling dances for all levels from the novice to the expert with dances ranging from traditional reels, southern style squares to the most current contra dances.

Doors open at 7 pm

Beginners' lesson at 7:15

Dance 7:30-10:30 pm

Sliding scale admission $15-$20, or $7-$10 for students

Come with a friend, a group or come solo -- experienced or not, all are welcome! Contra is aerobic, so wear layers and expect to shed a few layers as you warm up!

Please bring snacks or beverages to share at break.

Dance volunteers welcome your help with set-up, break down, clean up, and/or graphic design.
