Director Yorgos Lanthimos again pairs with Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons for a film that is darkly funny, challenging, and visually stunning. Writing in her review for The Atlantic, Shirley Li said “Bugonia’s provocative premise doesn’t yield a sci-fi thriller. The film instead offers an intimate, unhurried exploration of human cruelty.” (violent content including a suicide, grisly images, language)
