Autism, Vaccines, and Misinformation with Don Mesibov

Can Tylenol or circumcision cause autism?
What do scientists say about the causes of autism?
What should I know about autism when interacting with someone on the spectrum?
These questions will be discussed with Potsdam resident Don Mesibov, Founder/Director of the Institute for Learning Centered Education Autism Initiative and author of the book, Mesibov, Schopler, and TEACCH: Changing the World for Parents, and People with Autism; From Refrigerator Mothers to Treating Parents as Partners.
Mesibov, who has just completed a whirlwind tour of California, Texas, and New York City where he has presented to more than 300 people in the past 3 weeks, emphasizes that this will be a discussion, not a lecture. Bring your questions or any information you have to share.
Connor Newcombe, a 26 year old man with autism, will join Mesibov and recite some of his many poems describing, in poignant detail, his feelings and experiences growing up as a person on the autism spectrum.
