This workshop is for all residents or businesses considering installing solar or battery storage. Topics include:
- correctly sizing your solar system for maximum benefit
- how smart metering can help you make smart choices
- making the most of your solar energy through equipment controls
- weighing up the battery option
Daniel Stronggrove - Energy Management and Sustainability Advisor, Cairns Regional Council
Daniel oversees Council's Energy Management initiatives from policy development to on-ground implementation of energy efficiency, data management and renewables. In the last two years he has managed the installation of 1MW of solar on Council rooftops. He is the driving force behind Council's Ecofiesta.
Michelle Taylor - Manager Intelligent Grid New Technology, Energy Queensland
Michelle manages the new technologies department of Energy Queensland. She also sits on the Australian Standards committee that writes standards for solar arrays, battery systems and inverters. She has a long history with stand-alone and grid connected solar systems and more recently grid connected battery energy storage systems.
Glenn Walden - Manager Retail Digital Metering, Ergon Energy
After working in Ergon Energy’s network business for many years, including in solar and storage technology development, Glenn took a role in the retail business. He is now the Manager Retail Digital Metering. Glenn is pleased to say he’s a ‘Cairns boy’ and happy to be back in the ‘good country’
Local solar providers will also be present.
