O TNSJ associa-se ao Programa de Performances, My Center Is not in the Solar System, acolhendo um dos seus momentos. As palavras da poeta libanesa Etel Adnan – “O meu centro não está no sistema solar” –, ao convocarem um tempo geológico além da escala humana, são o mote deste programa, com curadoria de Alexandra Balona, inserido no projeto mais amplo da Contemporânea, On Hybridity and The Poetics of Resistance, sob a direção artística de Celina Brás. As três performances a apresentar no Teatro São João visam questionar historicidades eurocêntricas e narrativas hegemónicas, propondo, através do modelo da performance, temporalidades alternativas que contemplam a mutabilidade e a impermanência. Matei o Pássaro, da palestiniana Shahd Wadi, remete para “a perda das palavras perante a catástrofe e para a necessidade de escrever quando já não resta nada que possa voar”. A também palestiniana Noor Abed e o libanês Haig Aivazian antecipam que Nothing will Remain other than the Thorn Lodged in the Throat of this World, performance de som, texto e voz, onde o corpo se torna lugar de ressonância, resistência e memória. The Book of Mud, do libanês Ali Cherri, parte do fascínio pela lama enquanto matéria e metáfora, para refletir sobre poder, geologia e memória.
