In this highly interactive presentation Amy Herman will demonstrate how examining works of painting, sculpture, and photography can serve as a powerful tool for tackling complex problems—as well as everyday challenges by using a different lens to see what is there and what we are overlooking. Prepare to have your eyes opened in ways you didn’t realize they were closed.Reception: 5pm-5:30pmPresentation: 5:30pm-6:45pmBook Signing/Meet and Greet: 6:45pm-7:15pmThis event is free and open to the public.Paid parking is available across the street in the Bedford Street Garage for $4.15/hour.________________________________Presenter Bio:Amy Herman is a lawyer and art historian who uses works of art to sharpen observation, analysis, and communication skills. She developed The Art of Perception to improve medical students’ observation and communication skills when she was the Head of Education at The Frick Collection in New York City for over ten years. She adapted the program for a wide range of global professionals including the NYC Police Department, the FBI, the State Department, Fortune 500 companies, NATO, and the military. The program has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The CBS Evening News, and Smithsonian Magazine, among others. Her first book, Visual Intelligence, was on the New York Times and Washington Post best sellers’ lists. Her second book, Fixed: How to Perfect the Fine Art of Problem Solving was published in 2021.
