- **Event Description**: Guided plant meditation, shared tea, and the slow medicine of remembering. A communion circle for plant and human kin.About this EventTea and Tending: A Plant Communion CircleSomething in you already knows the plants.Tea & Tending is an intimate circle rooted in the belief that our relationships with plants were never meant to be transactional. In a culture that asks first what something can do for us, this is a practice of turning toward our plant kin with curiosity and reverence before utility. Of learning who they are, where they come from, and what wisdom they carry, not for us to extract, but for us to receive and to reciprocate. You will meet this plant ally through a shared preparation, received by the body in the way that suits them best, sit in guided meditation with the plant, and discover what your body already knew before your mind caught up. The plant's identity is not revealed until the end. What arrives in the silence before the reveal is yours. This is not a class. There is nothing to know beforehand and nothing to get right. It is an invitation to remember that humans are not separate from or above the living world. We are part of it. We always have been. These circles are a small act of coming back. Each circle is small by design, held with care, and open to anyone regardless of prior experience with plants or meditation. What to expect:We will drink tea together or partake in a topical preparation. We will sit in guided meditation with an unnamed plant ally. We will journal and share in a witnessing circle. Then we will meet the plant by name and learn something of who they are in the larger web: their ecology, their intelligence, the medicine they carry not only for us but for all living beings and the earth. We leave not with a list of uses but with the beginning of a real relationship.Details: Sliding scale: $20 / $30 / $40 Capacity:13 participants Location: Portland, OR Contact: strangemagickholistic@gmail.comNo prior herbal knowledge or meditation experience needed. "description": "Nix Grover, of Strange Magick Holistic, is a plant connection guide, herbalist, and doula, rooted in the Pacific Northwest. With a deep love for community care and nervous system tending, they weave ancestral wisdom, herbal medicine, and sacred communion to help others remember their kinship with the Earth. Nix is now stepping into offering workshops and circles to share this magic, inviting people to deepen their connection with their more-than-human kin, their ancestors, and their own intuitive wisdom. With a background in crafting herbal medicines, Nix’s apothecary work is rooted in the belief that relationships with plants, people, and the Earth should be reciprocal, not transactional. Their offerings, from tea blends to workshops, are designed to be accessible, inclusive, and deeply nourishing for body, heart, and spirit, rejecting the idea that ‘nature’ exists to serve humanity. When not tending their first medicinal herb garden or dreaming up community events, you might find Nix writing poetry or love letters, mothering two highly spirited humans, or wandering the woods with their sweet, adventurous cats, singing and communing with the plants."
