ANASTASIA LANG--
Growing up in Tennessee, Anastasia began her creative life as a visual artist, a fine art photographer, and graphic designer. She always longed to be a singer songwriter, but she did not come from a musical family and it seemed like an out of reach dream. So she did other things on the periphery of music—she was a sound board assistant, a roadie, and a lighting tech for live music and dance club music. She was also a broadcast radio DJ in college and is still a DJ now for Shady Pines Radio, producing her weekly show.
Eventually, though, she couldn’t resist her calling, and she began writing and performing with her baritone ukulele and her big voice around Portland, drawing on her influences from many genres of music and art. Her storytelling songs can be described as bohemian gothic folk pop with a bit of roots thrown in. And at her shows when the magic is right, she calls upon her audiences to sing along with her, because we’re all in this together.
You can find her first single, “Violet In Her Nightgown” on Bandcamp and streaming services. Her next single, “Today’s the Day” is in the studio now and will be out soon!
