Regarding the sets Oregon Arts Watch noted "a striking minimalist contemporary living room designed by set designer Luis Crespo. This space perfectly balanced light and dark elegance and tension creating dramatic contrasts with flair...The overall image was crisp featuring clean lines and deliberate contrasts offering no unnecessary distractions only the essentials.”PiafAcclaimed international dance-maker Ihsan Rustem returns to the company that provided him with his first commissioned work for his 14th creation for NW Dance Project. Completely inspired by and featuring the unmistakable music and voice of French songbird Edith Piaf who would have turned 110 this year Ihsan’s movement and series of lyrical vignettes serve as homage to the music of France's greatest popular singer and nothing more. Usually known for his sweeping narrative works brimming with tension and focus this time around he’s jumping headlong into the music to lead and shape the movement.
