- **Event Description**: The grief circle you didn't know you needed. A monthly grief circle at a bar.About this EventMarch's Theme: Liminal SpacesThere's a season that doesn't have a name. Not the ending, not the beginning the strange, uneasy stretch between. The seed underground. The cocoon. The hallway between two rooms. The version of yourself you haven't met yet.If you're living in that in between right now, you're not alone. And in 2026, a lot of us are. The ground is shifting. Old things are falling away. New things haven't taken shape yet. And it's disorienting to grieve something that isn't gone yet - or to wait for something you can't quite picture. But here's the thing about liminal spaces: they're not empty. They're full. Full of becoming. Full of everything you're releasing and everything that's quietly taking root. The seed doesn't know it's a seed. The chrysalis doesn't know it's a chrysalis. And yet something magical is happening.Welcome to March's grief circle: Liminal Spaces with Grounded Grief X Rhinestone, PDX. If you're somewhere between who you were and who you're going to be - if you're mid-unraveling, mid-becoming, mid-something you don't have a name for yet - you're invited.Through curated prompts, meditations, writing, and games, we'll laugh & cry together in the in between. Because the grey area doesn't have to be lonely. And sometimes the most important thing we can do while waiting to emerge is find each other in the dark. You're not stuck. You're gestating. Come have a drink with us.***Grounded Grief x Rhinestone have turned "Happy Hour for Sad People" into a monthly residency. Every fourth Monday of the month, we're taking over the bar to prove that just because we're sad doesn't mean we don't want to be invited to the party. We want a space where grief can float in and out—where tears are welcome amidst laughter, and where your heaviest emotions can sit right next to your favorite cocktail (or mocktail). Why a bar?Because grief doesn't just need a special "sanctuary" or private room. Grief belongs everywhere because every human experiences it. Grief belongs at the party, too. Even if it's crying in the corner, it belongs in the midst of love and laughter because it wouldn't exist without those things. What can you expect?Whether you're grieving the loss of a loved one, a relationship, an identity, a dream, a health diagnosis, or the state of the world—you are welcome here.Grief-themed games & activities designed to help us laugh and move through our heartbreak without drowning in it (think: Valentine's to ourselves, Never Have Ever: Love Edition, Mad Libs for Heartbreak, & We're Not Really Strangers style prompts to encourage meaningful conversation).Special grief-themed cocktails + mocktails cooked up by the rad owners of Rhinestone.A community of people who are figuring out how to keep loving even in the face of tremendous loss.Zero pressure to share anything you don't want to share. You can go as deep or stay as shallow as you want. There is no "right" way to grieve and no requirement to share your story out loud.A licensed therapist-led space that's facilitated expertly. You don't have to worry about one person dominating the space; you'll leave feeling a little more supported and uplifted, not depressed. The Vibe: We're here to talk about our most intense losses and the stupid show we watched on TV last night. Because we contain multitudes.First time? You're in good company. Many people come solo, and our facilitator makes sure everyone feels included from the jump. The Details:When: The last Monday evening of every month @ 7:00 pmNext Events of 2026: March 30th, April 27th, May 25th, June 22ndWhere: Rhinestone, Portland, ORTickets: $15 (Sign up via Eventbrite or at )Financial Hardship: We never want the ticket price to be a barrier to support. If you're experiencing financial hardship, please email katherine@groundedgrief.com, and we can help you out.Grief is just love with nowhere to go. Come give it a place to land.We can't wait to toast you and broken heart. <3

"description": "I’ve always been drawn to and seen the beauty in what others might consider the “darker” parts of life. I’m interested in knowing people in their totality - including rough edges, rawness, joy and strength.I am a licensed clinical social worker and have been practicing for the past seven years. I started my career in social work as a clinician in community mental health, working with high risk crisis clients in Vancouver, Washington. After two years, I became a supervisor, guiding four wraparound teams in interventions to serve families and clients with compassion, out of the box thinking, and humor.Prior to social work, I taught high school English in the public school system in South Central Los Angeles for six years. I love integrating elements of education, learning, and creativity into my sessions with clients. In my therapeutic work, I incorporate elements of self-compassion, mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and internal family systems. I am also a huge fan of exploring existential themes and spirituality, shadow work and the enneagram for clients who are interested in that side of the work!During my free time I love to practice my ukulele, write songs and creative nonfiction, act and storytell. I live with my husband and six month old daughter and becoming a parent has been a wildly difficult and healing experience."
