Starts April 22.About this EventDrawing Nature is a four-week class led by Christopher Reed that takes the natural environment of Maine as its subject -- plants, trees, bark, leaves, wooded landscapes, and the occasional wildlife sighting.Over four sessions, you will build a foundation in the core principles of value and composition using graphite, charcoal, and ink, with color encouraged as you grow more comfortable. Techniques covered include cross-hatching, shading and blending, blind contour drawing, and gesture drawing. Meditative exercises are woven throughout to help quiet the self-doubt that gets in the way of making work.This class is designed for beginner to intermediate drawers. No experience is required -- just a willingness to show up and try.
