- **Event Description**: Dear Friends of the Casco Bay Chefs Association,

     On behalf of the Casco Bay Chefs Association, American Culinary Federation Chapter, we are writing to share that our Chef’s Touch Annual Fundraiser Dinner at Sable Oaks has been cancelled.

     With the recent sale of the property and only a few weeks remaining before the event, we carefully evaluated every possible path forward. Ultimately, relocating and executing a fundraiser of this scale on short notice would not allow us to uphold the level of excellence and professionalism that Chef’s Touch represents within our industry. Rather than compromise the integrity of an event built over decades, we are choosing to protect it.

       As hospitality professionals, we understand that transitions and property sales are part of our industry. They are realities many of us have navigated in our own careers. While the timing is unfortunate, we respect the process and the people involved.
All ticket purchases, drink tickets, and event-related donations will be fully refunded. Confirmation of refunds will be sent shortly, and we are available to answer any questions during that process.

     We also want to formally recognize and thank Ocean Properties, the team at Sable Oaks, and Chef Chris Merriam. For as long as many of us can remember, they have been dedicated partners in this fundraiser — generously providing the space, staffing, infrastructure, and leadership that allowed Chef’s Touch to grow into a signature event for our chapter. Their commitment to our mission, our team, and our broader hospitality community has been significant and sincerely appreciated.

      Although we will not hold a dinner this year, our commitment to our mission remains strong. We will still be announcing this year’s award recipients and scholarship honorees in the coming weeks, continuing our dedication to supporting the next generation of culinarians and recognizing excellence within our profession.
We also remain committed to supporting our community partners, including Wayside Food Programs, Good Shepherd Food Bank, Preble Street, and other organizations working tirelessly to help those in need throughout our region.

       This decision was not made lightly, but it was made with great care for an event that represents the very best of our culinary community. Chef’s Touch has always been about passion, camaraderie, and chefs coming together to support the next generation.

      While this year’s dinner will not take place, we are energized by what lies ahead. This moment gives us the opportunity to dream a little bigger, get creative, and shape the next chapter of Chef’s Touch with fresh ideas, collaboration, and plenty of chef spirit. The future is bright, and we look forward to building it together.
	
Stay on the lookout over the next few weeks as we share upcoming events and meetings for the remainder of our season. We are also exploring new and creative ways to continue our fundraising efforts — including the possibility of an online auction that will carry forward some of the traditions and generosity that have long been part of the Chef’s Touch Dinner, just in a new light.
