Any discussion about the art scene in the city is incomplete without a mention of the Portland Art Museum. The museum has a huge collection of some amazing artwork throughout the ages, and the Native American Center, in particular, is well worth a visit. The Blue Sky Gallery was established as the Oregon Center for the Photographic Arts and features some local, national and international works by some renowned names. The gallery also hosts around 25 exhibits every year to educate the public and help further the careers of promising artists, and some of the photos displayed are sure to wow you. The Bullseye Gallery is a part of the Bullseye Glass Company, who are in the business of making glass for art and architecture. This art gallery in Portland features a collection of art glasses and explores the various ways in which they are incorporated into modern art. The Charles A. Hartman Fine Art specializes in contemporary and modern art and is a traditional art gallery. Some of the exhibitions held there highlight a solo artist, and some represent a group of artists who are nationally or even internationally renowned. Portland hosts a lot of art events which are sure to help you get a taste of what life in the city truly feels like. The Time-Based Art Festival brings together artists from around the world and has often been called the best contemporary art festival in the United States. The performances by some of the musicians are boundary-pushing, and the visual projects most often cannot be categorized – it is an amazing experience. The Southeast Portland Mural Crawl is another Art walk which is famous within the city, and you get a sample of the stunning street art which has been etched on the hallowed walls of the Oregon city.
