ZERO T
Metalheadz / Dispatch / The North Quarter / UK
++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++
20+years,4albums, countless EP’s and endless 12”son every drum&bass label you could care to mention; Zero T (fka Zero Tolerance) has long been a stalwart of the scene. Debuting on Reinforced Records at the turn of the century, Zero T continues to be a prolific contributor to the ever-growing landscape of jungle music. Career highlights include curating FabricLive052album, collaborating with Noam Chomsky and remixing Goldie, Dillinja and Lemon D amongst many others.2022 saw the release of his latest LP “Kilburn”–a concept album made with blind jazz pianist Andre Louis aka Onj. His other projects include Searchlight: a live jazz/soul project made with long-time production partner Beta,released on Goldie’s new imprint Fallen Tree/1hundred, and a solo alias Bruk Rogers for broken beat productions, signed to Tru Thoughts.
With his first release in 1999, London based Dubliner Cian McCann has long since established his place in the scene. From his early days in Ireland with the Bassbin label, to working with the likes of Goldie, Calibre, 4 Hero, Alix Perez, Icicle and Noisia, he has never stood still. 2008's Cheap Shots LP for Total Science's CIA Records was a high point, with the lead track
"Walk Away" bringing fellow Dubliner Steo to the worlds attention. Also noted as a prolific remixer, Zero T has retouched tracks by artists like Dillinja, Slam, Goldie, Lemon D, Lenzman and Lenny Fontana.
Zero T's discography reflects the diversity that his DJ sets have always shown, ranging from full vocal smoothness to more dance floor styles. You are as likely to find his music on labels like Metalheadz and Shogun as on Soul:r or Signature. In 2010 he launched his Footprints label, featuring appearances from Calibre, Bailey, Mark System and many others. A personal career highlight, Zero T was also asked to compile and mix FABRICLIVE052 for the esteemed London venue, which showcased the full range of his tastes as a selector.
After a short period away from the scene, 2014 saw the return of Zero T as a producer, remixer and DJ with a Metalheadz debut and a spate of collaborations with the legendary Fierce on the highly regarded Quarantine label. 2015 brought about his sophomore album, this time on Dispatch Recordings, entitled "Golden Section”, along with a glut of appearances on Shogun Audio, Soul:r, Fokuz and Spearhead. 2016/17 saw more releases on Quarantine, Metalheadz, Integral, Spearhead and Horizons, along with plenty of remixes for the likes of Lenzman, Noisia, Gerra + Stone, SATL and many more. The last number of years have also seen Zero T touring extensively in the UK, Europe, USA, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
In 2018 the third Zero T album, called ‘Little Pieces’, landed on Dispatch Recordings, featuring guest appearances from Steo, DRS, Stamina, Villem and Beta 2. He also released a 10 track, multi-genre EP on Lenzman’s label The North Quarter: "Baby Grand". There were collaborations with Phase on Metalheadz and GLXY Shogun Audio and another batch of remixes for Metalheadz, Dispatch and several other labels. 2019 brought a solo 12" on 31 Recordings an EP with Steo on Integral, appearances on both V Recordings and Shogun's anniversary LP's and much more! 2020 started with the acclaimed Exiles EP on Metalheadz, followed by a second EP for The North Quarter and remixes of Goldie ft Jose James. With multiple releases from 2021 forward on Metalheadz, C.I.A., The North Quarter, Dispatch and Integral, Zero T is always busy creating more unparalleled works.
Fast forward to 2022, Zero T returns to The North Quarter as he teams up with blind jazz pianist Andre Louis (known as Onj), taking their music to new heights with their conceptual album Kilburn.
“Having fortuitously discovered that they are neighbors, Zero T & Onj began writing music together almost immediately. The duo's chemistry was undeniable as Kilburn was written over the course of just three months. With Kilburn being historically known for its large Caribbean and Irish communities, and Zero T being Irish and Onj of Caribbean heritage, it felt undeniable to dedicate the album after the London area it was written in.
The result is a rich, versatile collection of tracks, showing off intricate rhythms along with smooth chord progressions, perfectly marrying the worlds of both artists and their Jazz, R&B and Jungle influences. The darker, heavy side of Zero T’s sound is present on 'Some Type of Way' and 'We Juggle Different', both featuring Neo Soul singer Terrell King. More delicate, soulful tracks include “Everyday Struggles” featuring Jordan Max, “Rodeo Drive” featuring Mercy's Cartel and “Darkness” featuring Steo. Other featured vocalists are the iconic Ursula Rucker, Manchester's T-Man and Ms Nayé. The album also includes a collaboration with Nu Jazz duo Unitsouled, who previously appeared on Zero T’s debut release on The North Quarter Baby Grand.”
Just now out March 10th is the sequel & followup to Kilburn: “Kilburn Park” which surpasses expectations. Packed with downtempo versions, remixes as well as new music, this project is a worthy successor to last year’s praised album. Remixers include AfroForce (a.k.a. Afronaut & Mark Force of Bugz In The Attic), James Rudie and Kid Fonque and Jonny Miller, who morph “Darkness” into a super-deep House odyssey.
The EP also consists of three new Drum & Bass tracks: Blow (featuring Nottingham soul duo Melonyx), Love Thing (featuring the soothing voice of Mercy’s Cartel) and the darker sounding “Killer Inside”.
With this project Zero T & Onj “hope people hear the common thread of real soul throughout the EP, regardless of tempo”. Onj adds: “Kilburn Park seems like the obvious sequel to a story with yet more parts to it. The downtempo feel of Gone but Never Forgotten, which has personal significance to me, could be those thoughtful times we sit down and consider the world around us, and our place in it.”

MC Questionmark
JUICE Host / Portland, OR-LA-UK
++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++
Hailing originally from London, MC Questionmark is one of the most recognized voices to be found across the landscape of the North American drum and bass scene.Born and raised in Southeast London, Questionmark, (aka Devon Andrew Morgan), moved to Los Angeles, California in 1987; encouraged by his parents to attend college stateside. Once settled in LA, Questionmark completed a degree in business administration at the LA Trade Tech College and Cal State University LA.
Growing up immersed in the acid house and techno scene that was blossoming in the UK in the early 90s, his time was split between the two countries. Influenced heavily by his Jamaican roots, he was drawn to deep reggae sounds like the Coxson Sound System (which Soul II Soul emerged from); and international rare grooves, soul and jazz. Attending his first Sunday Roast at its original location in Linford Studios, Questiomark was exposed to jungle through emerging heavy hitters like Fabio, Grooverider, Jumping Jack Frost, and DJ Ron. After hearing MC Moose, he was immediately drawn to drum and bass and the medium of emceeing.
Slowly finding his affinity for DnB, Questionmark connected to the early LA jungle scene through artists like R.A.W., who were playing the type of sound that he was craving. But there was no emcee. Hoping to bring a taste of London back to the U.S., he offered his services and never looked back. He became resident emcee at the first West Coast DnB weekly night “Science” (started by enthusiast/publisher of URB Magazine Raymond Roker), and hosted another “Atmospheric” night at the Viper Room. Over the years he had the opportunity to emcee many great events with pivotal artists in the genre like Krust, Dynamite MC, Doc Scott, Bryan Gee, Jumping Jack Frost, J Magick and LTJ Bukem. He grew his name and style over the next two decades, playing cities across the states like Honolulu, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Detroit, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Vancouver, BC., San Juan Puerto Rico, and many more.
Honing his craft and feeling a great response from the crowds, Questionmark has gone on to emcee (both locally and internationally) for huge influencers of the industry like Roni Size/Reprazent, Andy C, Ed Rush, Fierce, Nico, Trace, Bailey, Ink, John B, Bad Company, A Guy Called Gerald, DJ Rap, Jumping Jack Frost, Bryan Gee, Dom and Roland, Doc Scott, Simon "Bassline" Smith at the Planet V parties for V Recordings. Staying relevant to the stateside scene, Questionmark has tracked down some of the best shows, emceeing for domestic talent such as DJ Craze, Dieselboy, Dara, DB, AK1200, UFO!, Sage, Hive, Phantom 45, Fury, Danny the Wildchild…the list goes on. His passion for the music and soul behind DnB has led this journey.
Says Questionmark, “I want to take this music to the masses. Drum and bass is one of the first genres that came from the streets of London, intertwined with roots from Caribbean sounds mixed with the England vibe. I have always wanted to represent these underground sounds….I want people all over to know that even the ghetto has an artistic impact worldwide." Based now in Portland, Oregon, and working on a variety of creative pursuits and music projects, you can catch Questionmark all over the states, as a resident emcee of JUICE Drum and Bass, or pond-hopping to the UK at select events.
