The Eastern New Mexico University Department of Music is proud to host "The New Mexico Thing," an annual Band Director's Workshop designed to inspire and enrich music educators from across the state and region.
This workshop, sponsored by the ENMU Bands, ENMU Student Fees Board, and the National Band Association, offers a unique blend of classroom learning and practical performance sessions.
Each year, an esteemed guest clinician is welcomed to campus. The clinician provides valuable insights and expertise to participating band directors and ENMU music students. The workshop sessions cover various aspects of instrumental music education. These include pedagogy, rehearsal techniques, and repertoire selection, with a focus on preparing for concert performance assessments like NMMEA and UIL.
