- **Event Description**: Join us for this one day seminar exploring the transition from paganism and the early development of the Christian Church in Ireland.About this EventAt this seminar, hosted by the Craigavon Historical Society , a range of expert speakers will be on hand to guide us through this formative period in Ireland's history including Dr Tomás Ó Carragain of University College Cork; Dr Elva Johnston of University College Dublin; Dr Edel Bhreathnach and Dr Louise Moffett.The following papers will be presented at the event‘Early medieval churches in the Irish Landscape’ by Dr Tomás Ó Carragáin‘Being Pagan, Becoming Christian’ by Dr Elva Johnston'The role of monasticism in the early medieval Irish church' by Dr Edel Bhreathnach‘The late medieval church in Armagh province’ by Dr Louise MoffettThere will also be a panel discussion and q & a session.The event will be held at the Seagoe Parish Centre in Portadown. Doors Open at 10am, with the seminar commencing at 10.30am.This seminar is made possible thanks to the support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund through the Craigavon Historical Society's 'Pagans, Saints and Birdmen: Rediscovering Our Sacred Landscapes' project.
