The City of Port Townsend is holding its annual Autumnal Arbor Day celebration and plant adoption event on Saturday, October 3 at Mountain View Commons. Plant adoption starts at 11:00am until 1:00pm (or until plants are gone) with plants donated by Rainshadow Bird Alliance members, followed by a special tour of 50 trees in Uptown starting at the public library at 2:00pm.

The tree tour is led this year by Fred and Ann Weinmann, Rob Wamstad and Sarah Fairbank. Washington State DNR Urban & Community Forestry Program will share resources, information, coloring books, and stickers at tables at the event.

Come adopt a plant, learn why fall is the best time to plant native trees and shrubs in our area, and explore our amazing urban canopy. Learn more about urban forestry here: https://cityofpt.us/planning-community-development/page/urban-forestry-trees-row
