- **Event Description**: There is something special about an antique show. You never really know what you are going to find until you walk through the doors.
On October 17th and 18th, the Lake Scugog Historical Society will welcome visitors back for our 28th Annual Port Perry Antique & Nostalgia Show & Sale, an event that has become a fall tradition for many in our community. Over the years, the show has brought together antique dealers, collectors and those who simply enjoy spending an afternoon looking through pieces from the past. You might come looking for something in particular, but quite often it is the unexpected find that ends up coming home with you.
This year's show will once again feature a great selection of dealers offering everything from Canadiana and furniture to advertising, glass, primitives, collectibles, vintage items and plenty of other interesting pieces. Whether you are a serious collector or someone who just enjoys a little nostalgia, there is always lots to see. For the Lake Scugog Historical Society, the weekend is about much more than antiques.
The Antique Show is our largest fundraiser of the year and has played an important role in supporting the work of the Society for many years. The funds raised help us continue our efforts to preserve and share the history of Scugog through our collections, programs, publications, events and other projects throughout the year. It is also one of those events that takes a lot of people working behind the scenes to make happen. Our members and volunteers give their time throughout the weekend, and we are very fortunate to have dealers who continue to support the show, including many familiar faces who return year after year.
Reaching our 28th year is something we are very proud of. A lot has changed since the first one was held, but the reason for doing it really hasn't. It is a chance to bring people together, appreciate pieces of our past and, at the same time, help us continue preserving the stories and history of the community we call home. We hope you will stop by, have a look around and maybe even find a treasure or two.
The 28th Annual Port Perry Antique & Nostalgia Show & Sale takes place Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th.
We look forward to seeing you there!
