👣 Route Step Outdoors Hike
🌲 Green Mountain – Tin Mine Trail
📍 Gold Creek / Tin Mine Trailhead
🗓 Saturday, March 21st
⏰ Meet time 10:00 AM @ 451 S Kitsap Blvd, Port Orchard, WA 98366
Join us for a grounded, peer-led hike on the Tin Mine Trail, a great year-round option that blends forest walking, history, and quiet moments along the way.
This hike is about 4 miles round trip with roughly 600 feet of elevation gain, topping out around 1,200 feet. It’s approachable, kid-friendly, and a solid option for folks looking for movement without pressure.
The trail climbs gradually through second-growth forest, passing beaver ponds, seasonal cascades, and open areas with views of the eastern Olympic Mountains, Hood Canal, and Tahuya Lake on clear days. From November through May, the seasonal streams and waterfalls really shine.
One highlight is the historic Tin Mine, dating back to 1895. Exploring the mine is optional. If you choose to enter, boots are recommended, as there is standing water inside year-round. The mine extends roughly 400 feet and features wooden supports and natural formations.
We’ll move together at a comfortable, supportive pace and adjust as needed. This hike is about connection and presence — not speed or performance.
