# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Trans Canada Trail: Reed Point to Cockney Kings
- **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 10 Dec, 2025 at 10:00 am – Wed, 10 Dec, 2025 at 01:30 pm
- **Event Description**: ? This linear walk starts from Reed Point Marina. We will go up Burnaby Mountain to SFU, and back down the other side to Cockney Kings Fish & Chips.
Elevation gain: 329 meters
Distance: 11km

? Meeting Spot: Reed Point Marina entrance, before the railway crossing at the end of Reed Point Way, Port Moody, before 10:00.

? Route: We will stay on the Trans Canada Trail except for a couple of minor diversions to the Lohn Building at SFU for the maximum elevation gain, and to the washrooms at Mintara.

? This walk should be under 3.5 hours and 11.5 km. We will walk at an intermediate pace, take microbreaks (~1min) at various junctions, and lunch at Cockney Kings Fish & Chips. If the weather forecast shows more than light rain during the walk time we will take the lower, shorter, easier route.

?Transit options: The 160 Port Coquitlam Station/Kootenay Loop bus follows Hastings and Barnet. It stops at Reed Point Way on Barnet Hwy. and on Hastings near Cockney Kings (6574 Hastings St.).
? Parking: Reed Point has expensive paid parking. I suggest you park in the lot by Cockney Kings (6574 Hastings St.) and take the 160 bus to Reed Point Way.

? Washrooms: Not many. There’s a portable at Reed Point, washrooms at Mintara on Burnaby Mountain, and the end at Cockney Kings.

? Please bring plenty of water.

No dogs, please.

Be sure to arrive early/on time. If you are running late and I have not heard from you, my assumption is that you are not coming and you will be marked as a no show. People with multiple no-shows will be removed from the group. We can wait for people running a few minutes late. If we leave before you arrive, you can catch up to us with a little effort.
