The Rocky Point Sailing Association is hosting a special public event featuring Jason Krott from the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, and everyone in the community is welcome to attend.
Jason is a key leader in marine operations and safety for one of North America’s busiest ports. He works directly with commercial vessels, tugs, ferries, and recreational boaters — including those who use the same waters right here in our backyard.
He’ll be giving a 45-minute presentation on:
- Safe boating within the Port of Vancouver
- How commercial and recreational traffic coexist
- Traffic patterns and navigation zones
- Communication protocols
- Tips for anyone using Burrard Inlet, Indian Arm, or English Bay
Even if you’re not a sailor, this is a fascinating look at how our local waterways operate — and how Port Moody boaters and paddlers can stay safe around commercial traffic.
Open to all Port Moody residents, marina users, paddlers, sailors, and anyone curious about how the port works.
It’s also a great chance to meet the local Rocky Point Sailing Association and learn about the sailing community in our city.
