What started years ago in a garage with a handful of Jeepers looking for something fun to do in the winter has grown into one of St. Clair County’s largest and most anticipated Jeep events of the year. The very first Polar Jeep Run surprised everyone—expecting maybe 10 Jeeps, more than 40 showed up. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Hosted by the Blue Water Jeep Owners Club (BWJOC), the Polar Jeep Run is our winter version of the Polar Plunge—except we don’t jump in the water and get wet (unless it’s raining 😄). Instead, Jeepers bundle up, strip down their rigs, and hit the roads to raise money for local children in need.
This topless and door-less fundraising Jeep event brings together drivers and spectators for a day packed with friendly competition, winter fun, and giving back. Participants form teams and tackle arranged routes throughout the Blue Water area, stopping at various locations to complete timed challenges. After each challenge, teams return to a central event location to warm up before receiving their next route. Once all challenges are completed, times are added up and the team with the lowest combined time takes the win.
The fun doesn’t stop on the road. Back at the event location, enjoy our heated event tent, music, and a fully stocked concessions area featuring pizza from Jet’s Pizza, hot dogs, chips, and drinks. Feeling lucky? Try your hand at 50/50 raffles, prize raffles, and chance boards, where every pick could win anything from stickers to gift cards.
One of the most unique and exciting parts of the Polar Jeep Run is that it’s a winter topless fundraising event. Turn the chill into a challenge by competing for the top of the leaderboard, earning ultimate bragging rights—and taking home the coveted Polar Jeep Run Top Contributor Trophy.
Most importantly, this event exists for a reason. Every dollar raised supports local children’s charities, including child abuse prevention programs, adopting families at Christmas, Roof Sit, Safe Horizons, and more. Thanks to the incredible support of our Jeep community, BWJOC has donated over $50,000 to local causes—and we’re just getting started.
