This design works very well to depict layers of any type. They could be geological formations, landscapes, and layers through time showing an aging process. You can layer pretty much anything, be it nature, fields, seascape or mountain landscapes, multi-media abstracts, and even a life experience. For Strata paintings, artists use multiple processes to create various effects which can be done on canvas, panel, or paper. Tools used to create interesting designs are gesso, salt, water, tissue, plastic wrap, patterned papers, foils, stamps, brushes, sponges, and drawing tools.For materials, only participants paintings can go home, supplies to be reused in future classes.*Please note, workshop "participant" tickets are for watching the demo + painting at tables. Workshop "demo only" tickets are extra seats for those that couldn't secure "participant" tickets", or are just more interested in the demo and not painting.
