- **Event Description**: Don’t be late for a very important date at the West Baton Rouge Museum! Sign up for a special children’s event celebrating the opening day of the national traveling exhibit, Finding Alice: Artists Exploring Wonderland of which the West Baton Rouge Museum is the first stop on this tour throughout the USA. In lieu of our monthly Children’s Art Workshop series regularly scheduled on this date, join us on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM for An Adventure in Wonderland featuring characters from the beloved tale. Alice and Friends will be leading guided exhibit tours, tea time, and games while the museum’s art educator, Shauna Landry leads whimsical art activities. While this event is FREE, advanced registration is required. 
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” asks Alice. “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat. Our young registered guests will enjoy rotating from here to there engaging in festivities around the museum. Follow the White Rabbit into the exhibit to explore the works of various artist illustrations. Sip a spot of tea (or lemonade!) with Alice. Make mad hats and Cheshire cats with museum art educator, Shauna Landry. Other characters will appear to do more fun and curious things along the way.
Finding Alice: Artists Exploring Wonderland is toured by Exhibits USA, the national touring exhibition program of Mid-America Arts Alliance.  Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, first published in 1865, the exhibition explores the enduring influence of the classic story on artists across generations through photography, illustration, and book art.  Works in the exhibit include photographs by acclaimed artist Abelardo Morell and multiple illustrated editions of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland featuring art by Andrea D’Aquino, Salvador Dalí, Camille Rose Garcia, Yayoi Kusama, Oleg Lipchenko, Peter Newell, Evgeny Alexandrovich Shukaev, among others.
