An extravagant, imaginative, and highly theatrical former tour guide whose mother travelled France acting in Shakespearean plays. An expert on Elizabethan cuisine and medieval weaponry.

Requires extremely strong comedic acting. Maggie Smith won a Tony for this role!

·       Lotte Schoen
A stern, strait-laced, and unbending inspector from the Preservation Trust. Underneath her brisk, bureaucratic exterior lies a deeply disappointed idealist and secret champion of radical architecture preservation.

·       Mr. Bardolph/Visitor to Fustian House
Stiff-upper-lip, buttoned-down British attorney who is reluctantly dragged into one of Lettice’s extreme historical reenactments.

Requires excellent comedic acting.

Lotte’s timid, and obedient secretary.
