FAQs
I can only camp for one night. Can I still attend?
Yes! You’re absolutely welcome - though the ticket price remains the same, so staying two nights gives you the best value.
What time do we arrive and depart?
Arrival and departure times are flexible and depend on whether you’re driving yourself or carpooling. Committee members will be on site from Friday evening and will head off around midday on Sunday. We’ll confirm exact timing and meeting points closer to the weekend.
I don’t have any camping gear but I love this idea! Would I be able to borrow some?
Yes! We have limited spare camping gear available to borrow. Send us a message and we’ll let you know what’s on hand.
What if I have dietary requirements?
We can absolutely accommodate dietary requirements - please let us know at the time of booking so our catering can support you.
Is the campsite accessible?
The Lake Catani camping area has several campsites that are well-suited for visitors in wheelchairs as they are located on reasonably level ground and are located within 50 metres of the visitor amenities building.
Access to the toilets and showers from the campsites is from one of several compacted gravel paths that meander through the trees from the various campsites, with some paths wider than others.
There are no designated disabled parking bays in the camping area but campsites have sufficient space for vehicles to be parked close to the tents.
The unisex accessible toilet and shower has its own separate entrance in the visitor amenities building.

Who will be on the trip? I’m worried that I won’t know anybody.
Totally understandable - and you won’t be alone! Our friendly committee members will be there to support you, and most people come to GVYP events not knowing anyone but leave with new connections.
Are the activities compulsory?
Activities are optional! You’re welcome to join in or relax at the campsite as you like.
Will this event go ahead in all-weather?
This event will go ahead in all weather conditions unless access to this park is closed by Parks Victoria. Please be prepared to come along for great company, no matter the weather!
Will there be first aid or emergency support?
Yes! Several of our committee members are first-aid trained and will have first aid kits and emergency contacts handy.
Who can come to this event?
Anyone aged 18 to 40 living or working in the Goulburn Valley region. You don't need to be an experienced camper to come along, all are welcome and there will be a variety of activities for all fitness levels!
I don't know if I'm a 'professional' in the traditional sense - is this for me?
Absolutely! By 'professionals', we mean any working person - hospitality, trades, retail, healthcare, creatives, students, apprentices, you name it! We're here to connect all kinds of young people, no matter what path you're on.
Will I receive further details closer to the event?
Yes - once ticket sales close, all participants will receive a detailed information pack with directions, a packing list, and everything you need to prepare.
