Come learn, and try your hand at Medieval style Calligraphy and Illumination. There will be plenty of books to peruse as well as inks, paints and paper if you would like to try it out. Or if you are an old hand at this, come on out an work on a project.

The Society for Creative Anachronism is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our “Known World” consists of 20 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.

After receiving a diagnosis of leukemia, Mary Arndt, from Yorktown, Virginia, decided to establish the Yorktown Calligraphy Guild in December of 2015.
Where are we?
We are located in Yorktown, Virginia. We also include Poquoson, Newport News, Hampton, and surrounding areas.
Who are we?
We are calligraphers on different levels, some beginners, some novices. We are people whose goals are to educate and encourage people, and to pass on the art of calligraphy.
