Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center (PBRMC) collects peanut butter because it is one of the least donated items, even though it is high in nutritional value and is shelf-stable.SEMO Food Bank estimates that in Southeast Missouri, 1 in 6 neighbors, 1 in 4 children, and 1 in 8 seniors are food insecure. Peanut butter is high in nutritional value and has a long shelf life, making it a much needed item for food banks.This year, PBRMC has a goal to collect 3K jars of peanut butter and other nut butters for SEMO Food Bank.
