We are planning a dive trip to Vortex Springs in Ponce de Leon, Florida. The group will meet at Dr. Gabrielle Gabrielli’s business at 3035 Eliza Road (but please park in the Powell Road parking lot next to the doggy daycare) Tallahassee, FL 32308, which will serve as our rally point. Depature time is 1:30 Eastern. From there we will drive to Vortex Springs, which is about 1.75 hours away, and keep in mind that the springs are in the Central time zone.
During the day we will spend time in the water practicing advanced diving skills or open water skills, depending on each diver’s needs. After our daytime dives we will complete a night dive to support Austin as he works toward his advanced certification.
Temperatures are expected to be cold during the day and at night, so please dress accordingly and plan for extra layers. We may bring supplies for a small campfire, although someone will need to volunteer to bring the materials.
We expect to finish the night dive between 6:30 and 7:30. After that we will head back to Tallahassee, which should put back in Tallahassee around 8:30 on Saturday night.
For more details please text or DM Austin.
A daily diving pass is $25 per person and can be purchased on site at the dive shop. A ten percent discount is available for all military. If you need to borrow Gabrielle's gear, there is no charge but please chip in $10 per Nitrox cylinder or $6 per air cylinder, or you can rent from Vortex for about $20 per cylinder plus $50-75 for gear.
