Motivational Interviewing (MI) is often recommended as an evidence-based approach to behavior change. In a supportive manner, a motivational interviewer encourages individuals to talk about their need for change and their own reasons for wanting to change. The role of the interviewer is mainly to evoke a conversation about change and commitment. The interviewer listens and reflects back the individual's thoughts so that the individual can hear their reasons and motivations expressed back to them.Jonathan Kratz is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Tulsa with the University of Oklahoma.Lunch Break will be from 12:00-1:30. Downtown Ponca City has mulitple dinning options (Grand Cafe, Greek Island, El Patron, Provisions Coffehouse, Jim's Jumbo Buger- all with in walking distance) or you are more than welcome to bring your own and enjoy the nice outdoor seating at City Central's Courtyard.Due to limited seating, we ask that you only register if you are able to attend. If your plans change, please cancel as early as possible so that those on the waitlist can be notified and have time to prepare.
