Supporting Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia

Join us at Sparkle Ball 2026, a charity ball dedicated to raising vital funds for Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia (PANDA). This glittery event will be held at the stunning Chateau Elan in the beautiful Hunter Valley, NSW, offering an unforgettable evening of fine dining, dazzling entertainment (and of course wine), all in support of those affected by perinatal mental ill health.

When: 5.30pm Saturday 2 May 2026

Venue: Chateau Elan, Hunter Valley, NSW

Dress Code: Formal attire, but with a sparkle! Think glitter and shimmer (shine is non-negotiable people!)

Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy a delicious dinner and drinks while being entertained by a sensational band. There will also be exciting raffles, with exclusive prizes and experiences up for grabs. All proceeds from these activities will go directly to supporting the critical work of PANDA, which provides support to families impacted by perinatal anxiety and depression.

The Reality of Perinatal Mental Ill Health

Anxiety and depression are the most common mental ill health challenges faced during the perinatal period. Around 15-22% of women experience depression during pregnancy and/or following the birth of their baby, while 1 in 5 women report symptoms of anxiety. Between 4.2-9.3% of women experience both anxiety and depression at the same time. Tragically, suicide is a leading cause of maternal death in Australia, and new research suggests that fathers and non-birthing parents are also at increased risk of experiencing thoughts of suicide during this vulnerable time.

PANDA is working tirelessly to provide support, education, and advocacy for those affected, but more resources are needed to ensure that every person who needs help can access it.
