To celebrate National Ice Cream Day 2026 let’s take a tour of the independent creameries and ice cream parlors of Frederick County, Maryland. We’ll ride some of the most scenic rural roads the county has to offer, finishing with sweet treats at Rocky Point Creamery. This is a rolling ice cream social! The goal is not KOMs or bragging rights – the point is just to celebrate what is surely the sweetest holiday of the summer. Invite your friends! 


THE ROUTES: We are offering three routes (see below) each at a different pace. These are not strictly “no drop” rides, but it’s not much of a “social” if the group isn’t together! The hope is that each group will roll together at the prescribed pace and regroup as needed. 

Please note that the terrain on these routes is quite hilly (RWGPS significantly underestimates elevation gain) – expect to average 1-2 mph slower than you would on flatter terrain. Choose the pace and distance most appropriate for your level of fitness.

Please note, we are starting early to beat the mid-July heat. Many of these businesses may not be open when we pass by – we just want to make you aware of their existence for future reference! We'll plan to stop at Rocky Point Creamery for sweet treats at the end of the ride!


THE RULES:
-	This ride is unsanctioned and noncompetitive in nature
-	Ride takes place on public, paved roads (0.9 miles of gravel on Triple Scoop route)
-	All riders ride at their own risk
-	Helmets are required
-	Front and rear lights strongly recommended
-	Be polite, courteous, and predictable
-	Look out for your fellow riders
