Does your troop have a favorite game or a team-building challenge that would work well in the Klondike?
Sign up to run a town at this year's Klondike.
All adults should take part in running or assisting a town. If you feel you don’t have adequate staffing to run a town, and you just want to “help,” we can find you a spot or team you up with another troop, it’s a perfect opportunity to pair up and make some new friends.
STAFFING NEEDS.
We are looking to staff:
Parking Friday evening and Saturday morning, perfect for a troop who will be camping that weekend.
Nine challenge towns. (some listed below)
Three cook towns.
Inspection.
Patrols should practice the town challenges below and “Be Prepared" for possible changes and additional fun towns to be
announced. The event booklet will contain more detailed town descriptions and should be published by early October.
Be Prepared for:
FIRST AID. Provide first aid for a broken wrist, clavicle or tibia, then transport, which will it be? The injured may have multiple issues for you to deal with in the first aid scenario.
MAKE HOT CHOCOLATE. Lash a tripod, start a fire with a match, boil a pot of water and make a cup of hot chocolate for each patrol member.
ICE FISHING. Lash three poles together, attach a hook, put your blindfold on, then follow the directions of your patrol rhe leader to try and catch a fish.
SPLIT A MATCH. Split a match with a hatchet.
GIANT CLOVE HITCH. Tie a clove hitch around a tree or pole from six feet away.
These and more will make for a fun-filled but challenging day.
