- **Event Description**: Our mother used to say, from as far back as we can remember, “Please don’t have a funeral for me. I’m afraid no one will come.” We always laughed and told her that if we needed to, we would rent a line of cars and fill them with strangers just to prove her wrong.

She never changed her mind. It was one of the many things she was unwavering about. So when the time came, we honored her wishes. There was no funeral. She was cremated instead.
Still, she left us with a plan.

She wanted her ashes divided and spread in three places that mattered to her: along the Long Island Expressway, in a park near where she grew up in Glen Cove, New York, and at Long Pond, where she spent most of her life.

If you knew her during those years at Long Pond, you may remember how often she said she hated it there. But those who knew her best understood the truth. It was there, in Plymouth, around that pond and in the life she built around it, that she left a piece of herself. Maybe even the biggest piece.
And so, it is there that we invite you to join us.

We will gather at the pond she loved to say she hated, and together we will spread her ashes in the place that held so much of her life. 

If you are receiving this message, it means you were part of that life. You were part of the reason she loved being a Yankees fan in the middle of Patriot Nation. If you ever found yourself gathered around her cash register during the glory days of PSHS, then we hope you’ll gather with us one more time.

Come help us say what she may not have believed, but what we know to be true: she was deeply loved, she is deeply missed, and there is no need for cars full of strangers when the people who mattered most were here all along.
