Or perhaps you’re completely new to sewing and don’t yet own a machine? This one-day Complete Beginners Sewing Course is the perfect place to start. Designed for absolute beginners—or anyone returning to sewing after a long break—this workshop will guide you through all the essential skills needed to use a sewing machine with confidence. With friendly, expert teaching, you’ll learn how your machine works, how to thread it, and how to troubleshoot common issues. You’ll also explore stitch functions, machine feet, and basic sewing tools. To put your new skills into practice, you’ll make a simple and stylish box-bottomed tote bag with an internal pocket. This project gives you plenty of opportunity to perfect straight-line sewing while creating a useful, 3D item that you can enjoy long after the class ends. A reusable bag pattern is included for you to take home and make again.
