IT'S TIME FOR THE GRAND KICKOFF CELEBRATION OF THE 20TH SEASON OF BASELINE FOLK SOCIETY! AND DO WE HAVE A SPECIAL EVENING PLANNED FOR YOU!
Please join us on Saturday, September 20th, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Plymouth Arts Council on Sheldon Road for a "Blast from the Past" with performances by Mike Mullen, our founder, and several BaseLine Alumni commemorating our earlier years. Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote, "There are no times like the old times, --- they shall never be forgot!"
Mike Mullen will take us back to the very beginnings of BaseLine and the foundation upon which we have continued to build. Mike will then perform a few tunes for us on his Celtic Harp followed by some wonderful harmonies with the Pairadocs Trio. And that is just the beginning of our musical flashback celebration!
We are so excited to reconnect with early performers whose lives have taken them in different directions but who have "come home" to play for us once again to celebrate our 20th Season! So much talent on our stage for one special evening! Along with Mike Mullen and the Pairadocs Trio, we are happy to welcome back Rise Again, Tony Tocco, and Judy Insley. WOW!
You may have guessed it, but with all our special guest performances, we "open mic folks" will have the pleasure of joining the audience and enjoying the music. How cool is it to not have to lug your equipment and practice your songs! However, going forward it is our privilege to continue making more music memories to celebrate again in another 20 years. The eight open mic spots and our usual format will resume in October.
Oh! Did I mention that we have a very special surprise tribute to our traditional music craft? (I can't tell you or it wouldn't be a surprise.) Bottom line: Please come and help us celebrate this momentous occasion commemorating BaseLine's 20th Season of acoustic folk and traditional music.
BaseLine President Cathy Miller is thrilled to be our host for the evening! And, for those of you with a sweet tooth, in addition to our fabulous brownies and cookies, we will have some beautifully hand-crafted celebration cupcakes from another alumni, Julie Bengtsson. Mmmmmmmm...mmmmmmm...good!
