This 1.5-day course will enhance clinicians’ ability to foster patient engagement and progression by integrating patient-centered principles with evidence-based manual therapy interventions. Lectures will focus on underlying concepts and best practices in shoulder rehab. Lab sessions provide guided opportunities to apply examination techniques and refine manual therapy skills in a supervised, hands-on learning environment.Classify shoulder dysfunctions using the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) framework.Explore current conservative, surgical and post-surgical strategies using classifications to strengthen clinical reasoning and individualize exercise / treatment planning.Improve your understanding of shoulder pathology and progression of instability.Practice new / varied mobilizations and intervention strategies that are immediately applicable.LEARNING OBJECTIVES1. Describe the Biopsychosocial Model of Health and how it applies to the orthopedic shoulder population.2. Demonstrate examination techniques for patients with shoulder injuries.3. Describe the clinical decision to rule in/out the diagnosis, differentially diagnose and screen for medical complications that may present as shoulder pain.4. Select interventions for patients with shoulder injuries for each of the described impairment classifications to appropriately incorporate them into practice.5. Select interventions for patients with persistent shoulder pain to appropriately incorporate them into practice.Questions? Please explain the circumstances of the cancellation in a fax or e-mail to ensure a timely response. Requests received 3 days or 72 hours prior to course start will result in a full refund. Re-quests received less than 3 days (72 hours) prior to the course start will result in a non-refundable administration processing fee of $50.00 or 50% of registration cost (whichever is less). No shows or cancellations within 24 hours of the course start will be ineligible for a refund. Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation will reimburse you the cost of the registration, if we have to cancel a course due to low enrollment, weather, or an emergency situation. We are not responsible for any other costs associated with attending a conference. If you are on the waiting list of a course and do not get in, we will not charge your credit card; if you paid by check we will send the check back to you. In the event that a course is rescheduled we will provide you the option of applying the tuition towards the rescheduled course in lieu of a full refund.Complaint policy: Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation views complaints as an opportunity to improve.
