We will meet at the trailhead Friday night. You can set up camp or sleep in your car. We will begin the hike on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. Information about Paddy Creek Wilderness Area:Big Paddy and Little Paddy Creeks characterize the Paddy Creek Wilderness with steep cliffs and rock outcrops along the drainages. These creeks have water in them throughout most of the year. In the Wilderness are a few old fields in drainages but the rest is forested. Dispersed camping is allowed along the trail and in the Paddy Creek Wilderness Area. There are no toilets, no structures, no trash cans, no treated water, and no fire grates available. Drinking water is not available in Paddy Creek Wilderness. Open water sources within the wilderness are not recommended for drinking. Bring your own drinking water or be prepared to boil or treat water chemically.Information about the trail:Paddy Creek Trail is a rugged route that travels through a typical Ozark forest of hardwoods and pines with rocky outcroppings and seasonal waterfalls. There are several creek crossings over Paddy Creek and scenic bluffs overlooking the Big Piney River. This trail is considered one of the best trails in the state and is great for a first-time backpacking trip as the trail is well-marked and easy to navigate.Day 1: Meet at the trailhead to set up camp. You also have the option to meet us Saturday morning if you don’t want to drive out Friday afternoon/evening.Day 2: We will begin our hike at 9:00 AM and hike approx. 6.8 miles with 640 feet of elevation gain, to our campsite.
