Over the course of two immersive hours, the Legacy Heritage Walking Tour uncovers the true Texas tales that textbooks left behind. Led by a professional performer who blends humor with heartfelt history, you’ll travel just over a mile through Plano’s most modern district—only to discover the untamed stories rooted beneath the surface.
One of our most powerful stops is Baccas Cemetery, a 19th-century burial ground quietly tucked between sleek skyscrapers and upscale shops. It’s here that you’ll hear the forgotten stories of pioneers and early settlers—everyday Texans who laid the foundations for the city we now call home.

But perhaps the most striking part of the tour is the legacy of Black cowboys who once rode the Shawnee Trail through this region. Often erased from the Western mythos, these men were integral to Texas history—herding cattle, surviving harsh conditions, and shaping frontier life with strength and pride. Through storytelling, public art, and the very ground you’ll walk on, we honor their contributions and explore why their stories matter more than ever.
