This Intro to Geocaching experience is designed specifically for beginners who want to learn how geocaching really works so they can confidently do it anywhere in the future.
Geocaching is a worldwide, real-life treasure hunt using GPS coordinates — and during this guided adventure, you’ll learn the actual skills geocachers use while finding real, active caches in the park.

What geocaching is and how it works worldwide
How to use the Geocaching app (map view & compass view)
How to read cache descriptions, difficulty, and terrain ratings
How to use hints (and when not to)
How to search thoughtfully and respectfully
How to log a find properly
Basic geocaching etiquette and safety tips

Set up the Geocaching app together
Walk to several easy, beginner-level caches
Practice navigating using GPS coordinates
Learn how to think like a geocacher when searching
Celebrate real finds as a group 🎉
You won’t be rushed, and you won’t be expected to know anything ahead of time — this is a relaxed, supportive introduction designed to build confidence.
