Join the Plainfield Fire Department as we 

"Charge into Fire Safety™" on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 6 PM to 9 PM, right in front of City Hall (515 Watchung Ave).

This year’s theme is 

Lithium-Ion Battery Safety in Your Home, a crucial topic for every family. 

⚡ Use Original Equipment: Always use the manufacturer's charger that came with your device.
⚡ Charge on a Hard, Flat Surface: Never charge a phone, laptop, or tablet on a bed, sofa, or pillow. These surfaces can trap heat.
⚡ Don't Charge Overnight: Unplug devices once they are fully charged. Avoid leaving them charging unattended for long periods.
⚡ Inspect for Damage: If you see a swollen, cracked, or damaged battery, stop using it immediately.
