- **Event Description**: Join us for our third annual summer pilgrimage, led by Susan Swanke. This year, we will journey to the beautiful St. Anne Shrine in Plain, WI. 

We will gather on Tuesday, June 2, at 4:00 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church in Plain, WI. The evening will include a talk from Fr. Luke Syse on the meaning and symbolism of church architecture in the Christian tradition, Mass, a boxed dinner, and a group pilgrimage walk to the Shrine. 

Perched atop a scenic overlook with sweeping views of the surrounding farmland, the shrine was dedicated in 1928. For generations, pilgrims have ascended the hill in prayer, meditating on the Passion of Christ along the Stations of the Cross and bringing personal intentions before God at the small chapel at the summit. 

Participants will also receive guidance on how to spiritually prepare for the pilgrimage experience. 

Cost: $10 per person (includes boxed dinner) 

Schedule: 
4:00 p.m. — Meet at St. Luke Catholic Church 
5:15 p.m. — Mass 
5:45–6:30 p.m. — Dinner 
6:30 p.m. — Begin walk up the hill 
7:15 p.m. — Arrive at Shrine 
7:45 p.m. — Begin descent 

Note: The walk to St. Anne’s Shrine involves a steep uphill path and uneven ground. We will take breaks along the way, but participants should be comfortable with moderate hiking. If you’re unable to make the climb, you are still welcome to join us for the first part of the evening.
