Fertile Ground for Creativity and Caring for Our Watershed
This FREE festival brings the community together to celebrate the connections between California native plants, local ecosystems, environmental conservation, land stewardship, and artistic expression. It will feature local artists exploring the benefits and uses of native flora in many art forms, including the culinary arts!
As a play on the word "riparian," RIPE AREA is an invitation to experience our interdependence with riparian zones, clean water, and healthy lands essential for life.
Building on the success of last year's RIPE AREA Festival, this year’s event will offer a wider range of artistic and cultural experiences. Featuring local Indigenous practices and perspectives, it will illuminate Wakamatsu Farm's native plant gardens, adjacent pond, and riparian areas. Artists will inspire guests with the goal of fostering informed land stewards and advocates for environmental protection and preservation.
Gates open at 10:00 AM and close at 4:00 PM. Chairs, blankets, pop-ups, wagons, and picnics are welcome. Pets, drugs, alcoholic beverages, and weapons are prohibited.
Registration is recommended for this popular event, which is capped at 1,000 visitors.
