Students under 15 must be accompanied by adult.ABOUT THE ARTISTBorn to a family of professional musician, David Malmberg lived life with entertainment in his blood. He remembers clearly the first time he saw ventriloquist Paul Winchell on TV and knew he just had to learn the art of ventriloquism. By the time he was 13, David was practicing voice throwing in the classroom much to the chagrin of his teachers. His parent eventually broke down and purchased a professional figure for him when he was 15.As a young man, David served in the United States Navy, continuing his voice throwing antics in boot camp, before being assigned as an American Forces Radio DJ to entertain the troops in Cuba and Spain. Thinking he should get “a real job” on returning home, David devoted the next two decades to broadcast radio, until being bitten by that urge to perform live again. On the road, his show combines his talents in both ventriloquism and music, (David is a masterful guitarist, integrating folk, jazz and pop with the classical and flamenco guitar styles he studied in Spain.)From the early 90’s on, David has crisscrossed the country, lugging suitcases for himself and his “dolls,” performing shows of ventriloquism and music live for over a half million people and countless more through other media, working solo and with other ‘national’ acts.
