- **Event Description**: Let's celebrate the warmer weather with local author, Megan Pasonick, and her newly released children's book: Kimmy Goes Camping. We will be continuing our children's mindfulness series with a reading from the author where the children will then envision what it would be like to go camping themselves. Afterwards, they will complete a mini canvas acrylic painting of their visualization which helps to calm little excited minds. Through age-appropriate activities, kids will: -Enjoy a mindful camping story time with our local author. -Do a mini visualization of their own camping experience. -Paint their own small canvas with acrylic paints, intuitively epresentative of their spring/summer visions. -Practice simple breathing exercises inspired by the season. This workshop is designed to help children slow down, savor the season, and discover mindfulness through fun, hands-on experiences. Each child will take home their painted canvas as a reminder to carry calm and creativity into their daily lives. If you purchase Megan's book, she will be available for a signing. Though we do not limit the age of children attending, this event is best for preschool and school age children who are comfortable with sensory activities and following directions. This workshop blends storytelling, art, and mindfulness to nurture focus, gratitude, and joy. We look forward to seeing you! $17 per child. Advance registration required. Limited seating. *Megan Pasonick lives in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and has just published her first children's book. It is called, "Kimmy Goes Camping," and is about a curious little bear who discovers the magic of the great outdoors while celebrating her 8th birthday on a family camping trip to the state of Wisconsin. Megan first wrote and illustrated this book as a young child with crayons! Come support her and hear Megan read this delightful story, while inspiring your young ones to dream big and never give up. *Book purchases are separate from the event price.
