Mixed Media Pet Portrait Workshop

In this creative, hands-on workshop, participants will explore mixed media techniques to create a portrait of their pet. Using oil pastels and liquid watercolor, artists will focus on capturing personality rather than realistic detail. Bold oil pastel lines are used to sketch and add texture to the pet’s features, while flowing liquid watercolors are layered on top to create vibrant blends and expressive backgrounds.

This process highlights contrast between resist and flow, allowing colors to interact freely while the pet’s form remains defined through line and texture. Students are encouraged to experiment with unconventional color choices and expressive marks, making each portrait unique.

Perfect for all skill levels, this workshop emphasizes creativity, confidence, and playful exploration of materials, resulting in a colorful pet portrait full of energy and character.
This will include a frame for your pet portrait. I will need a picture of your pet ahead of time so it can be sketched out. This class will be $45 a person. When you sign up please send a picture of your pet ASAP.
