Like a river whose life-giving flow of water sustains us, music can carry memory, longing, and joy — even serving as a lifeline for the most vulnerable in our communities. In this concert, the Treble Choir (Lee Wright, director) explores water as both symbol and sound: sometimes calm and dreamlike, sometimes rushing and full of life. 21st-century arrangements of spirituals (* Down in the River to Pray* , * Wade in the Water* ), the beloved folk song * Shenandoah* , and original works by composers from Hildegard of Bingen (1098–1179) to Reena Esmail (b. 1983) create a soundscape that spans centuries, yet converges in a single truth: we are all connected by the incredible resource of water that we share. Join us for an afternoon of choral music that ebbs, flows, and reminds us that we are "* flowing on* " together.
