Sun 2/10: Leatherworking Bootcamp: Cut & Sew Your Own Tote $140
Sun 2/10: Leatherworking Bootcamp: Cut & Sew Your Own Leather Tote $140
In this leatherworking bootcamp, resident master of leather, Kelly Malone & Natasha Dean will teach you how to create your own high-end, unisex, leather tote bag! The finished project is a leather tote measuring 13" X 11", with an inside pocket and keychain. It’s the perfect bag for keeping track of all of you doodads, whatsits, and thingamajigs!
You’ll build, sew, and rivet every part of this high end bag yourself. You’ll learn to work with a pattern, how to cut out your bag from the hide, and how and when to use leather adhesives. You’ll also learn how to punch holes, hand stitching techniques, and how to create a box corner. Lastly, you’ll cut your choice of straps and rivet them onto your bag. This class includes several hours of handwork and stitching, so a prior leather class or sewing class is always helpful, but not necessary. Bring those hands well rested and ready to work!
